Following the success of last year’s Western Thaalam, The United Kingdom Tamil Students Union – UKTSU kicked off the university show calendar with Western Thaalam Reloaded. Held at the capacious Byron Hall of Harrow Leisure Centre on 15^th November the show drew in a crowd exceeding 1200 people.

The show included acts from many UK universities including dances from Southbank, QMW, Kingston and Southampton, musical acts from Brunel, a catwalk (City) as well as performances from young college students and other independent groups. Guest appearances from MC SubZero and KadhalViruz enraptured the young audience with their medley of hits. Street dance productions gave a notable 2 part performance as did Ignite and the Classical dances with their energetic choreography.

This years show highlighted the cause behind UKTSU to provide educational facilities to underprivileged Tamil students back home as well as donating a percentage towards the current humanitarian crisis which has left over 250,000 people displaced.  Due to unfortunate circumstances involving a group of youths the show ended early resulting in the hard work put in by performers and UKTSU going to waste, However UKTSU; with its ever-growing number of members; will return next year unaffected, determined and stronger.
